‍Predictions estimate rising sea levels will impact 1 in 7 Bangladeshis, presenting a challenge for the government's urban planning strategy.

Athena sought to understand the current urban planning ecosystem and its impact on the poor. It then presented recommendations for pro-poor, climate sensitive urban development, through a process and stakeholder mapping exercise. The initiative additionally included the development of a detailed set of spatial and non-spatial metrics. Athena also developed data collection protocols to empower local governments to track inputs, outputs and outcomes emanating out of identified intervention pathways.
