Producing a toolkit to support gendering ICT related interventions
The Sustainable Development Goals call for gendering ICT in multiple domains to promote women empowerment. Digital inclusion of women is critical to create greater awareness among citizens, increase job prospects, and access essential government services. To address the persistent gender gap in access, adoption, and use of ICTs, Athena designed a toolkit for the World Bank. This supports their Task Team Leaders (TTLs) implementing ICT sector projects to identify relevant barriers. It then provides suggested subsequent actions to overcome these barriers. The toolkit also helps identify opportunities to further to women's empowerment in these projects. It also provides targeted actions to capitalize on these opportunities.
