Bhitush is passionate about working towards water and sanitation for all. His key research areas include non-sewered sanitation and citywide sanitation planning. He previously worked at Water Programme of Centre for Science and Environment as a Programme Manager where he was leading the SFD promotion initiative; Programme Support Unit (NMCG) for mainstreaming FSSM in Ganga Basin; and Technical Support Units in small towns of Uttar Pradesh to achieve citywide sanitation. He has authored the Practitioner's Guide on Septage Management, written various articles and reports on non-sewered sanitation and presented papers on the subject at conferences like WWW, WEDC, FSM and IWA. He did his masters in Environmental Engineering from IIT Kanpur and his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from MRCE, Faridabad.
