To understand the situation around child labor in Vietnam, Athena recently conducted field research and mapping around the ‘5 Ps’. These include Policy, Program, Processes, Penetration and Partnerships. It also assessed available data, reports and literature to identify key drivers and roles behind children working in the country. Athena additionally conducted in-depth interviews with governmental, non-governmental, bilateral and multilateral agencies and select private stakeholders. It worked to identify areas demanding improvement and it generated recommendations based upon field research, global benchmarks and comparable case studies.
