Lead Consultant - Gender and Social Inclusion
Anupama Ramaswamy is a lead consultant – gender and social inclusion at Athena. She provides technical and strategic leadership to various consultancy and research assignments; leads and supports bid development; and contributes to business development, providing strategic direction to the company. She has over 7 years’ experience working in international development across multiple sectors including workforce development, child protection, WASH and public health. She is particularly interested in cross-cutting areas of gender and social inclusion.
Anupama brings multi-disciplinary expertise in project design, business development, monitoring and evaluation, and qualitative research. She has worked mainly in South and East Asia, including India, Bangladesh and Vietnam. Her experience include work with UN agencies, World Bank, non-governmental organisations, private sector, and national governments. She holds two master’s degrees: one in development management from the London School of Economics and the other in political science and economics from the University of Hyderabad.
