Mael’s interests include policy analysis, statistical modelling, international trade and value chain assessment. He previously worked as an analyst at UNESCAP in their Macroeconomic Policy and Development division. During this role, he conducted policy-oriented research studies on economic diversification and productive transformation of cities. Mael also completed a world tour under for a French Regional Foundation to promote the region’s assets abroad. He completed his first master’s degree in development economics and his second in analysis of development projects at CERDI (Centre for Studies and Research on International Development, France). Mael additionally holds a third master’s degree in international development, also from CERDI.
