The World Bank's Transport & Digital Development Global Practice held an engendering ICT toolkit workshop on 28th March 2018. The workshop introduces Athena's toolkit to support the World Bank's Task Team Leaders (TTL) mainstream gender into ICT operations. The toolkit draws on the Bank's corporate gender agenda, which states that 55% of all projects should have a gender tag by the end of IDA18. It also supports the Sustainable Development Goals' call for gendering ICT in multiple domains to promote women empowerment.

In addition to discussions and obtaining feedback, the workshop demonstrated the most effective methodology for using the toolkit. It provided insights on how the toolkit can identify specific barriers/opportunities against each ICT intervention and suggests targeted actions that leverage existing knowledge. It also offered insights on how to "gender-tag" an ICT operation while meeting the IDA18 objectives.
