The UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (UNICEF EAPRO) has engaged Athena and its partner BORDA to build the capacity of its country offices in the East Asia and Pacific region, and provide them with the necessary tools and experience to promote citywide inclusive sanitation (CWIS) principles and support government and sector partners in delivering equitable and inclusive urban sanitation services.

As part of this engagement, Athena and BORDA will: develop and deliver training sessions focused on CWIS principles and climate-resilient sanitation; build capacity on the FSM Toolbox for assessing existing sanitation situation and planning interventions; support two country offices in the region to develop follow-up action plans; and assist two cities or subnational areas in applying these tools.
