Athena Infonomics is proud to be a key partner in the UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub (UKHIH), collaborating alongside distinguished organizations RAND Europe and glass.ai. Established in 2020, the UKHIH is hosted by Elrha, a global organization dedicated to finding solutions for complex humanitarian challenges, and funded by the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO).

About UKHIH: Solving Humanitarian Challenges through Innovation

The UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub, since its inception, has been committed to supporting significant humanitarian issues around the world, through a combination of rigorous research and creative innovations. Their mission is to bring together the perspectives of crisis-affected communities and the experiences of humanitarian actors, with UK and global capacities and resources to develop relevant and effective solutions.

Athena's role in the UKHIH project is integral to understanding and shaping the technological landscape within the humanitarian sector. The project aims to explore trends in the adoption of emerging technologies, identify key technologies to enhance humanitarian practices, and envision a future research and innovation journey for these technologies.  This significant project aligns seamlessly with Athena's mission, of providing donors and implementers with practical, actionable insights, and strengthening digital systems for the betterment of humanitarian efforts.

The outcomes of the UKHIH project are designed to benefit the humanitarian community by providing valuable insights, practical guidance, and a foresight initiative. This would greatly help humanitarian organizations & practitioners make better decisions, work together more effectively, and be ready for future challenges.
