Ankit Chatri is the Director of the Governance and Service Delivery practice at Athena Infonomics. He focuses on improving governance and service delivery, and strengthening state capacity. Ankit has led several technical advisory and consulting assignments in sectors such as general and urban infrastructure, water and sanitation, solid waste management, affordable housing, and school education, working in partnership with governments, international development institutions such as the World Bank, IFC, UNDP, and GIZ, as well as donor organisations including the Gates Foundation, MSDF, Veddis Foundation, and Arena Holdings. He has worked closely with State Governments in India to support reform initiatives on quality of expenditure, public revenue augmentation, outcome measurement, personnel management, and leveraging markets.
Ankit rejoined Athena in October 2024. He holds a Master’s in Economics from the University of Hyderabad and an M.Phil. in Development and Planning from IIT Bombay. He has co-authored a book on Public Private Partnerships in Urban Water Supply and Municipal Solid Waste Management in India and three papers on assessing the impact of consolidation on bank efficiency. He has worked in India, Bangladesh, Ghana, and Myanmar.
