Ramya Ramakrishnan is a Design Researcher at Athena Infonomics with experience in UI/UX design spanning design practice, research, and academia.

She holds a Master of Design (M.Des.) in UI/UX Design from Gujarat University. Her work experience includes serving as a UI/UX Designer at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM University), Chennai, where she specialized in user experience research and human-centred design, leading discovery activities, translating research insights into design strategies, and creating user journeys, workflows, and interaction frameworks for startup Incubation projects. She also served as a Visiting Faculty at the Apple & Infosys-powered iOS Development Centre, mentoring over 90+ students on UI/UX for app development and contributing to the successful publication of eight apps on the App Store. Additionally, she worked as a UX Researcher Intern at IIT Delhi.

Ramya founded and led the GO UX - UI/UX Meetup at SRM University for two consecutive years, building a community platform that brought together design leaders from leading organizations and over 100+ participants to foster learning, networking, and collaboration. She has also been a speaker at the UX India, Chennai City Meetup (UMO Design). Her work has been recognized through a competitive Call for Papers selection at the SiDE Symposium, IIT Delhi, where she presented an extended abstract exploring sustainability in design education through the lens of UI/UX design. Her research interests lie at the intersection of User Experience (UX), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Human- Computer Interaction (HCI), with a focus on understanding human behaviour and designing technology that is accessible, human-centred, and socially impactful.
