Shruti Cheriyan's interests lie at the intersection of public health, development, and demography. Prior to Athena, she served as a Global Health Fellow at Swasti Health Catalyst, Bengaluru. In addition, Shruti has worked with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as a student consultant, in collaboration with the London School of Economics and Political Science. Through academic research and internships, she has explored several health and development concerns through primary and secondary research. Shruti has interned with ESAF Small Finance Bank, Kudumbashree (the poverty eradication and women's empowerment program implemented by the State Poverty Eradication Mission of the Government of Kerala), and the Institute of Public Health (IPH), Bengaluru.
Shruti holds a Bachelor's degree (with honours) in Economics from the University of Delhi, a Master's in Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, and a Master's in Health and International Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
