Dr. Joshi is the Director of US Operations at Athena Infonomics, leading business development since joining in April 2015. He has worked in development consulting with Royal Haskoning B.V. and as Director, Oxfam Novib for India, Nepal, and Bhutan, managing a development financing portfolio of approximately $300 million over nine years. At Oxfam Novib, he served on the board and promoted the British Charity Partnership for Development Organizations for Central Asia, while also supporting teams in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Following this, he served as Executive Director at the International Center on Child Labor and Education in Washington, D.C., managing eight sub-regional offices of partner organizations across Africa, the Americas, and Asia, and advocating for enhanced financial aid flows to countries to meet their obligations in areas such as Education for All, fair labor conditions, and job creation.
Dr. Joshi then returned to India as Senior Vice President at ICICI Bank, leading the ICICI Foundation, and has since consulted with UNICEF, the World Bank, and the Global Partnership for Education on education, social protection, labor sector reforms, employment strategies, and workforce development. He has served on the ILO-led Global Task Force on Child Labor and Education, contributed to UNESCO’s Global Monitoring Report, and led ministerial policy roundtables on education, child labor, and poverty in global forums. His areas of interest include urban policy, municipal reform, social protection, health sector reform, regulatory strengthening, labor market reforms, and workforce development for adolescents and youth.
